Katao, Sikkim
KATAO is situated at an elevation of 15000 ft and 24 km from Lachung ( North Sikkim ) . This picture is of Katao waterfall in the month of March. And most importantly this is one of the place , where one has to avail permits from the army to enter the area. The valley is nearly covered with Red Rhododendron flowers and snow at the same time, gives a stunning view . Midway to this place, one will also come across this stunning waterfall . This destination is also a perfect place for adventure lovers as sports like skiing , snowboarding, snow tubing and stone grinding can be enjoyed here during winter season.
